Menlo/Sunset Co-Ed Summer Bible Study (2026) (Virtual) 11-week Zoom class every Thursdays, from 7:00 pm-8:45 pm (PT) from June 4 to August 13, 2026

Class Overview/Schedule

Week 1 (June 4) – Everything Is Meaningless {Ecclesiastes 1}: God made us for eternity, and only His eternal presence in our lives can satisfy our thirst for meaning. No eternal meaning can be found in a temporal world –only futility & frustration.

Week 2 (June 11) – Pleasure, Wisdom and Toil {Ecclesiastes 2}: Discover what does and does not give meaning, purpose and significance to your life. Share your life experience, success, enlightenment and enjoyment that satisfy.

Week 3 (June 18) – A Time For Everything {Ecclesiastes 3}: How did time affect you in different seasons of your life? Did you take time to smell the roses, forgot to say thanks to the Giver, feared life instead of your Creator God?

Workshop (June 25) – Life Preparation for Christ’s Return/Community-Building Fellowship: How prepared are you to meet your God (Amos 4:12)? What might you have overlooked and replenished your oil while there is still time?

Week 4 (July 2) – More on Toil; Worship {Ecclesiastes 4:1-5:7}: How effective did you deal with your life’s

problems, toil and inequities? How satisfied is your worship and relationship with God? And relationships with others?

Week 5 (July 9) – Wealth {Ecclesiastes 5:8-6:12}: What four things not to do when troubles come, and where not to look for ultimate joy and meaning in life. What is good for a person in life, during the few and meaningless days they live?

Week 6 (July 16) - Wisdom {Ecclesiastes 7:1-8:1}: What Godly wisdom can we learn from the paradoxes of walking with God? How can today be better than yesterday, and tomorrow be better than today? Discover the benefits of wisdom.

Week 7 (July 23) – Life Under The Sun {Ecclesiastes 8:2-9:12}: Learn five definitions of humility to face life’s reality, and be content when change is impossible. Discuss Biblical view of a topic nobody talks about: common destiny for all.

Week 8 (July 30) – Wisdom Is Better Than Folly {Ecclesiastes 9:13-10:20}: Discover how wisdom can prevent the effects of foolish choices and mistakes. Learn to avoid foolishness in little things, leadership, employment, and speech.

Week 9 (August 6) – Fear God, For He Will Judge All {Ecclesiastes 11-12}: Review King Solomon’s teachings on investment diversification, his remembrance of his Creator while young, and his conclusion on life’s meaning.

Week 10 (August 13) – (Optional Dinner) Fellowship Sharing Night (on-line zoom or in person at Sunset Church, 3638 Lawton Street (between 42 nd and 43 rd Avenue), San Francisco, CA 94122)

There is so much more to discover this season. Come join us online or In-Person. 

In-person and online groups meet at our host facility at 1st Baptist Church (Hayes Valley, SF) on Tuesday nights 6:50-8:30pm. Online participants receive a Zoom link by request made to their group leader. Satellite groups hosted by various other churches meet throughout the city at different times of the week. BSF has a 4-fold approach to Bible Study

1. Answer lesson questions for each week on your own. The workbook is available in pdf, MSWord, and in print in your membership portal page after you sign up. BSF is always free.

2. Discuss your insights in a conversation with members of your discussion group in person or on-line. Only those who have completed their questions are asked to participate in discussions.

3. Listen to a short lecture that explains the passage, key principles from the lesson and how we might apply the Bible's truths to our lives.

4. Read lesson notes that further elaborate on the passage.
