About Bible Study Fellowship and Our Local Leaders

Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) is a global, in-depth Bible study that helps people know God and apply His truth to their lives. Open to all, BSF offers structured group studies, rooted in Scripture, to encourage spiritual growth and deeper understanding of the Bible. We have over 450 members with 35 study group leaders leading Bible studies every week throughout the San Francisco region. Our Main In-Person Meetings meet every Tuesday night at our host facility in downtown San Francisco at First Baptist Church (on Market St/Waller). At the heart of BSF is the Four-Fold Method of Study, a proven approach that promotes personal discovery and transformation:

Personal Study – Participants explore Scripture on their own using thoughtfully prepared questions.
Group Discussion – Weekly discussions provide a space to share insights and learn from others.
Teaching – Engaging, Scripture-based lectures offer deeper context and application.
Biblical Commentary – Detailed notes give additional understanding and background.

Together, these four elements help participants build a solid biblical foundation and grow in faith through God’s Word.

Our Leaders

Teaching Leader (staff): Abraham Lee

Abraham served as a missionary, Asia-Pacific consultant, and professor of International Management for the last twenty years before returning to the SF region in 2019 when he entered urban ministry work in San Francisco through Bible Study Fellowship to equip and strengthen local followers of Jesus in their understanding of the Bible. He holds multiple degrees across various fields, from Molecular Cell Biology to Organizational Innovation earned at UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, and a doctorate from IE Business School in Europe. He is currently completing his Master of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. His passion is training believers in discipleship for Jesus. In his free time, he can be found regularly at the local Food Bank distributing groceries and cooking meals for volunteers; teaching entrepreneurship, leadership, spiritual formation to youth and young adults; and supporting addiction recovery, prisoner re-entry and restorative justice issues with ministry partners in the city.
